The Earth was full of everyone’s wishes for “more convenience!” and “more of everything!”
But behind those wishes lay a great deal of unseen “mottainai” (wastefulness).

For example:

• After tossing away things we no longer need, most people rarely think about where they go—but in fact they pile up into ever-higher mountains that burden the Earth.

• Even when we think “it’s fine because it gets recycled!”, making it usable again actually consumes a great deal of energy.

• Things we buy believing they are eco-friendly may have taken a lot of energy to make or been transported from far away, damaging the Earth without us realizing it.

Hidden behind everyone’s kind wish to “do something good for the Earth,” countless doubts of “wait, is this really eco-friendly?” and the Earth’s cries of “mottainai!” gathered tightly, over a very long time, deep beneath the soil.

And one day, that mass burst with a “BOOM!” and a monster was born.

That is Hamagon.

Hamagon is a monster, but he is not scary.

He is a gentle monster who wants to think together with us about the question: “If we get to know the Earth well, what does it really mean to do something good for the environment?”
