Selected for Kitakyushu City Subsidy: Launching a Feasibility Study on Solar Panel Reuse and Recycling Business in Thailand

Our proposal has been selected under Kitakyushu City's "FY2026 Kitakyushu City Sustainable Environmental Business Expansion Subsidy" program,

specifically the "Feasibility Study on the Commercialization of Solar Panel Reuse and Recycling in Thailand."

[About the Kitakyushu City Sustainable Environmental Business Expansion Subsidy]
This subsidy supports local demonstration trials tailored to overseas needs and feasibility studies (FS) for building overseas business models. Its purpose is to help companies expand sales channels abroad by compensating for gaps in price competitiveness, financial strength, and brand competitiveness.

[Project Overview]
This project will study the feasibility of introducing our "Solar Panel Reuse and Recycling Business," which is already operating in Japan, into Thailand.
As of April 2026, Thailand has approximately 5 GW of installed capacity, and its installation target has been raised to approximately 39 GW by 2037.

While large volumes of solar panels are expected to be discarded in Thailand due to aging degradation and natural disasters, the generation of used panels is already becoming apparent locally.

Solar panels contain hazardous substances such as lead and arsenic, making proper treatment essential. However, crushing treatment currently appears to be the mainstream method in Thailand, and advanced material separation and resource circulation have not yet progressed, which remains a challenge.
Going forward, we will build a strong collaborative framework with local government and businesses and transfer our advanced sorting and recycling technologies, thereby reducing the risk of environmental pollution while promoting a "sustainable resource circulation model" that does not rely on landfill.

[Future Outlook]
We will implement the solar panel reuse and recycling business in Thailand, contributing to solving serious local environmental pollution issues, while exploring wide-area expansion with an eye toward ripple effects in neighboring Asian countries.
