Conducted wide-area survey of garbage using AI
We carry out wide-area surveys of waste distribution mainly in the Kinki and Kyushu regions by equipping our industrial waste collection and transportation vehicles and commercial vehicles with smartphones for taking pictures of the "Takanome Automobile Edition" provided by Pirika Co., Ltd. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Fujio Kojima, hereinafter referred to as "Pirika"). The acquired data is provided to Pirika and is used in a wide range of initiatives, including optimizing municipal cleaning budgets and implementing efficient cleaning activities.

Pirika is a startup company born from a research lab at Kyoto University in 2011 that aims to overcome all environmental problems through the power of science and technology.
Pirika not only has the garbage distribution survey service ``Takanome Automobile Version,'' which we have introduced, but also ``Takanome Walking Version,'' which conducts garbage surveys on sidewalks in specific areas, and ``Pirika,'' a garbage-picking SNS that allows users to record and send garbage pickups and send ``thank you'' to each other. We have expanded the circle of trash picking to all over the world, and the number of trash picked up through the trash picking SNS "Pirika" has exceeded 350 million pieces. (As of April 2024)

Our company, which works on the proper treatment of not only industrial waste but also all kinds of waste such as solar panels, which are considered difficult to dispose of, decided to introduce the ``Takanome Automobile Version'' to help solve the problem of garbage that is not properly disposed of, such as illegally dumped and littered garbage.
In particular, garbage on the streets has a high risk of flowing into the ocean, and we believe that we can contribute to solving the problem of garbage flowing into nature, such as marine plastic pollution, which has become a problem in recent years.
Since the introduction of the system, drivers have said, ``Having Takanome installed has made me more concerned about litter than usual,'' and this has also led to an increase in employees' awareness of contributing to society.
