This business supports the overseas expansion of Japan's recycling industry by fully taking into account the needs of the waste treatment and recycling sectors in each country. It involves conducting feasibility studies for businesses that will provide waste treatment-related services overseas, or for facility construction projects commissioned by treatment operators, within the next few years.

[Project Overview]
This project will conduct a proof of concept (PoC) aimed at establishing a proper collection and recycling system for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) discarded in Northern Vietnam.
WEEE generation is expected to reach approximately 380,000 tons by 2030 and approximately 530,000 tons by 2050. Currently, improper treatment by the informal sector is the mainstream practice, making the establishment of a proper treatment system an urgent challenge.
Through previous feasibility studies, we confirmed the social acceptability of building a local recycling system, and we are now conducting a PoC toward commercialization.
[Future Outlook]
We will first implement the WEEE recycling business targeting Northern Vietnam, with the aim of eventually expanding nationwide.
We will also explore expansion with an eye toward ripple effects in neighboring Asian countries, contributing to reducing environmental burdens worldwide and building a sustainable society, working toward a society where no one is left behind.
